There is a new option for students who could use a helping hand at Lawrenceburg High School.

The school is launching The Tiger Market which is a one-stop destination for essential items, ensuring that no student has to worry about basic necessities that may affect their daily lives.

"Whether it is food to feed them over the weekend or you just need a hair tie for soccer practice, no kid should ever have to stress about those types of things," says Lawrenceburg High School Principal Jared Leiker.

The creation of Tiger Market was led by the high school's Hope Squad, which is a team of caring students who look after the wellbeing of their peers.

For the student creators of the Tiger Market, it represents more than just a physical space—it's a symbol of solidarity and empathy.

The success of the Tiger Market relies on the support of the community. The students are seeking the following donations from the community:

  • Deodorant (mens and womens)

  • Hair Care Items

  • Clothes (no shorts)

  • Underwear

  • Socks

  • Bras

  • Water Bottles

  • Hair Ties

  • Snack Food Items (granola bars, etc.)

  • Coats

  • Hats

  • Gloves

Physical and monetary donations can be made by contacting Heidi Frost at hfrost@lburg.k12.in.us or by dropping donations off at the Pillar Law Group in downtown. Lawrenceburg.
